Return or Repair

Returns

If the product is damaged upon arrival, the customer should immediately report this to the carrier. If the goods are insured, the insurance company should be notified. Other complaints should be reported immediately to our claims department. It is the buyer's responsibility to inspect the goods upon arrival for any defects or shipping errors.

If the product is insured, a report shall be made to the recipient's insurance company. Other claims shall be reported to our claims department immediately, no later than fourteen days after the defect is discovered, or should have been. Under any circumstances, a claim must be made within twelve months of invoice date.It is the purchaser's responsibility to check the product upon arrival for defects and the order for errors.

All claims must have a returned merchandise authorization (RMA) number and be agreed by e-mail to norge@elfadistrelec.com or telephone to 23 12 49 00.

Elfa Distrelec AS will arrange for the return to be picked up by its own shipping agent.

Returns/Order cancellations

Elfa Distrelec AS operates with a 30-day return policy, but all returns must be approved by Elfa Distrelec AS.

All returns must have a returned-merchandise authorization (RMA) number and be agreed by e-mail to norge@elfadistrelec.com or telephone to 23 12 49 00. Returns that have not been agreed will be refused.

Returns are accepted only when the product is unopened and in original package.

Items not kept in stock may not be returned.

Sensitive items that are packed in shielded packaging may only be returned unopened.

Crediting of account will occur after a deduction of 20% of invoiced amount or a minimum NOK 100.00.

Customer will be charged for return shipping.

Returns occur at purchaser's expense and risk.

Elfa Distrelec AS will arrange for the return to be picked up by its own shipping agent.

Service and repair matters

In the event service or repair is required for goods purchased from Elfa Distrelec, Elfa's Customer Service must always be contacted before the product is returned. Invoice or receipt must always be presented in the event of any guarantee claim.

Variance from technical data

We reserve the right to vary in dimension or appearance from specifications in the Elfa catalogue. The variances are generally insignificant and are due to the rapid technical advances in the industry.

Private individuals, terms and conditions

For private individuals, the Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act applies. Deadline for changing your mind

Read carefully the information about your right to change your mind.

If you change your mind about a purchase from us, the Norwegian Cancellation Act will apply. Under the Cancellation Act, you have some duties and tasks. You will find these in the paragraphs below. We want the transactions involving this to be as simple as possible for all parties, within the provisions of the Act. Information is thus sent out about the Cancellation Act via e-mail with every purchase made from us.

If the product has been put to use as your own, the Cancellation Act cannot be invoked. We recommend taking good care of the original packaging and/or sales package if you wish to return the product safely and securely.
Below you will find some important excerpts from the Cancellation Act:

  • The Cancellation Act only applies to consumer purchases. The Cancellation Act cannot therefore be used by firms or others who have acted as an intermediary in business activity. (See Section 6, Subsection e of the Cancellation Act.)
  • The right to change one's mind does not apply if the product cannot be returned in the same condition and quantity, or if damage or deterioration is due to negligence or lack of care on the part of the consumer. (See Section 12, Item a of the Cancellation Act)
  • The right to change one's mind cannot be invoked for sound or image recordings or computer software if the consumer has broken the seal. (See Section 12, last paragraph of the Cancellation Act)
  • The return costs are borne by the consumer (see Section 15, first paragraph of the Cancellation Act).

If you do not pick up the package and otherwise remain passive, this will not give us any indications as to why the package has not been picked up. You will thus not have fulfilled the requirements imposed on you under Sections 11 and 13 of the Cancellation Act, and will thus lose the right to depart from the agreement. You will then be charged for shipping costs in both directions and a handling fee in the amount of NOK 200.00 to Elfa Distrelec AS.

Before the order has been packed/sent

Delete the order itself from ordered status at "My page", or ring our Sales Department on 23 12 49 00 and ask for the entire order or parts of it to be deleted. If one of these confirms that the order has been deleted, then you have changed your mind. For your part, it may be prudent to keep, for at least fourteen days, a copy of the e-mail with information regarding who you spoke with in regard to your having changed your mind.

After the package has been sent or picked up:

  • Below are some examples of approaches you can use.
  • Pick up the package as soon as possible. Fill out a change of mind form and send it to us by e-mail to norge@elfadistrelec.com. You will receive an e-mail confirming that the purchase/product is within the criteria for the right to change your mind. A return-number letter will be sent you, and this confirmation will be placed in the package that is to be returned. The amount owed you minus NOK 90.00 + (VAT) shipping will be sent to your account after we have received and processed the "change of mind package".
  • These points require you to act (remember the fourteen-day deadline mentioned in Section 11 of the Cancellation Act), in such a way that there is no doubt that you are invoking your right to change your mind. In other words, so we can handle the matter in a quick and painless way for all parties under the Cancellation Act. The change of mind form is filled out and sent to norge@elfadistrelec.com for approval and return number. We send you a return label which you put on the return package. You deliver the package to the distribution location where you picked up the package. When the return has been checked and inspected by us,the amount minus shipping will be refunded to your account.

Prosedyre for elektronisk behandling

  1. Log into your customer area and click on 'Order History'.
  2. All your orders are listed here. You can return all items delivered. All completed orders which have already been delivered have the status 'despatched'.
  3. The items ordered including numbers are recorded in the 'Detailed Order' field. Select the corresponding item and click on 'return'. Please note: If the return consists of several items, you have to carry out this process repeatedly.
  4. Please let us know the numbers and the reason for return in the last section. You will then be asked whether the packaging is still intact and whether you require a replacement for the corresponding article(s). A service employee will contact you immediately when Elfa Distrelec receives the online form.
